<![CDATA[This phenomenological study explored the lived experiences, challenges, and complicated life of 12 mothers who are pursuing their collegiate degree in a state university while rearing and taking care of their children. Participants met the inclusion criteria of a student mother, which includes (1) a bonafide student of a tertiary state institution; (2) a biological mother; (3) residing with her child/children; and (4) willingness to participate in the inquiry. Three major themes emerged in the participants’ lived experiences, which include (1) hustles and bustles of student mothers’ life; (2) driving factors of student mothers; and (3) coping mechanisms of two-faced mothers. The findings revealed that the participants faced adversities and struggles as a mother and as students and remained more steadfast and more resilient in fulfilling their dreams to finish their collegiate degree and receive a university diploma. The lived experiences of the student mothers have established implications to policies in the university, which involves the creation of daycare centers inside the campus for the children of student mothers as well as the conduct of psychosocial debriefing and stress reduction programs by the Gender and Development (GAD) office for the student mothers.]]>

Consistently analysts and agency reports are plunging into new bottoms of a tumbledown in economic activities. Indian economy, however, has a somewhat slightly different story to tell at this hour of crisis. The silver lining for the Indian economy originates from a lofty fall in crude oil costs from around $70 per barrel to a record multi-year low of $22 per barrel. <![CDATA[This research aimed to analyze secondary English teachers' pedagogical discontent and identify factors relating to this construct. Further, this study established the teachers’ affective response to his evaluation of the effectiveness of his existing teaching practices and goals. This study utilized descriptive research with a qualitative approach using the multiple-case study design. The researcher distributed a pedagogical discontentment checklist to identify the English teachers with ‘high’ or ‘very high’ pedagogical discontentment, wherein eight (8) participants were identified. They belong to the eight (8) secondary schools in one of the districts in the Schools Division of Zambales. The eight (8) participants were subjected to individual interviews and focus group discussions. It was found out that most of the participants were female, middle adult, holding Teacher I position; Seven (7) participants have high pedagogical discontentment whereas only one (1) participant has very high discontentment; Teachers are recommended to undergo training workshops on pedagogy. Conducting regular focus group discussions on improving the weak areas are noted; An investigation on the frustrations, attitudes and beliefs, interventions, classroom practices, and aspirations of the English teachers should be conducted considering their contexts. Professional learning communities are deemed necessary.]]>

<![CDATA[This correlation study aimed to determine the association between the level of self-esteem and romantic jealousy among selected undergraduate university students from Metro Manila, Philippines. The researchers conducted an online survey with the use of self-administered questionnaires. Purposive non-probability sampling was used to identify the 40 respondents for this study. to gather respondents. Descriptive and inferential statistics. Majority of the respondents were females (23 out of 40) and in their early stage of relationship (1-4 months). Results show that the respondents have a moderate level of self-esteem (median of 3) and high level of romantic jealousy (median of 5). A statistically significant inverse correlation was found between their level of self-esteem and romantic jealousy (r =-0.185, p<.05). The result suggests that the higher their level of self-esteem, the lower the romantic jealousy, i.e. romantic jealousy has no space if one is confident in one's romantic relationship.]]>

<![CDATA[In a restaurant, a customer waiting to be serviced is a phenomenon. Restaurant owners often overlook this matter which sometimes causes the customers to go to a competitor. There are some important factors to be considered a good restaurant such as taste, ambiance, and service. An establishment will attract a substantial number of customers when these factors are managed carefully. Fast service is one of the most important factors in fast food restaurants to avoid losing customers because of considerable delay on the line. During mealtime, customers rush to fast food restaurants to have a quick meal. This research aimed to develop a mobile ordering application for a fast-food restaurant that offers a series of functionalities wherein a customer can order food using this platform. The system was developed using the Agile Methodology in assuring its proper implementation. A survey was performed to establish the acceptability of the mobile application. Five small fast food and restaurant owners were invited to test and answer the survey and another set of fifty prospective customers undergone the same set. As a result, the expected acceptability rating was attained from the survey conducted. Improvements of the system were recommended that were not implemented in the current version due to time constraints and the non-applicability to the current study]]>

<![CDATA[This was a descriptive-correlational applied research which determined and analyzed the time management strategies of public elementary teachers in a district. The time management strategies of the teachers were related to their teaching performance. There were 103 elementary teachers in a district as respondents of the study. Since all teachers in the district were included as respondents of the study, the complete enumeration technique was employed as sampling technique. A time management questionnaire was developed by the researcher based on the activities that teachers need to accomplish and distributed with the help of the principals. The teachers indicated how many hours they spent on a particular task on a 24-hour basis. Weighted mean was used in analyzing the data on time management and Pearson R for the relationship of the time management of teachers and their teaching performance. Findings revealed that teachers were mostly very satisfactory in rendering their work, classroom teaching got the greatest number of time allotment among the teachers, teachers’ time management strategies ranged from using the internet for their needs in teaching to listing important tasks for the day to planning before classes start and working overtime at home to do tasks, work delegation was observed to be the least in their strategies to manage time. Furthermore, findings in this study showed that the teaching performance ratings of the teachers were not influenced by their time management strategies. It could be the tendency because most teachers had very satisfactory ratings. No one got satisfactory rating and only 12 were outstanding. If time management was not a factor, as the relationship test showed acceptance of null hypothesis, then the factor that determined or predicted teaching performance should be explored. The research then recommend that teachers should keep up with their positive teaching performance by giving the same passion and commitment towards work, they must continue giving most of their time in school to classroom instruction in order to produce pupils who are imbued with right values and knowledge and skills competence and they must embrace the challenge of the work responsibilities inherent to being a teacher. Teachers had practiced good time management because they allotted more time to classroom teaching and preparations to their core tasks as teachers. <![CDATA[As our world becomes more technologically advanced, research suggests that technology-rich learning environments support students as well. Mobile Virtual Laboratories can be used to replicate physical laboratories and augment the incorporation of technology inside science classrooms in an attempt to provide students with laboratory experiences that would not otherwise be available in high school settings. This study measured the effectiveness of mobile virtual laboratory as innovative strategy to improve learners’ achievement, attitudes, and learning environment in teaching chemistry. The study utilized one-group pretest–posttest design. The innovative strategy is calculated using this design by measuring the difference between the pretest and posttest scores, attitudes and learning environment in teaching chemistry. The study revealed that the utilization of the innovative strategy mobile virtual laboratory in teaching chemistry showed that learners have a strong positive attitude. More so, the learners have a strong positive learning environment when exposed to the innovative strategy mobile virtual laboratory based on the six domain of learning environment in teaching chemistry. As shown by the significantly higher mean in the posttest than in the pretest, the innovative strategy mobile virtual laboratory had a positive impact on the learners' achievement. Consequently, the learners exposed to the mobile virtual laboratory in teaching chemistry are significantly differ in pretest and posttest results. The findings of this study have the potential to reassure educational professionals, contribute to the body of research within the field of chemistry achievement, attitudes, and learning environment, and encourage further research into the efficacy of mobile virtual laboratories as a teaching tool.]]>

<![CDATA[Islam is a practical religion where it does not stop at laying down certain principles. As in the case of land ownership, Islam ordained a system which provides people, both individual and social ownership rights are addressed equally. This paper attempts to examine the impact of Islamic principles on the values and practices of some Mёranaw land owners in Malabang, Lanao del Sur. This is also to find out the depth of awareness of the land owners regarding ownership and management from the Islamic perspective. The study aimed to further raise the awareness that Islam is not just a religion which calls for peace, but also aimed to address the needs of humanity with its spiritual, moral, economic and social systems. The researchers used a qualitative research using the narrative approach. Field-based research was undertaken from focused group discussion, ocular visits to the area and personal interviews with the informants, including land owners, descendants, managers, and tenants. The general finding of the research concludes the land owners were aware that private ownership of land and property is not ‘absolute’ right rather it is a form of trusteeship given by God. And, there is a significant correlation between religion and values. Thus, the influence of religion on land ownership and management has a great impact on shaping the beliefs and practices of the land owners which resulted peace within the community.]]>

<![CDATA[This study aimed to determine the effects of using manipulatives in teaching fractions. Quasi- experimental method of research was used in this study. It was conducted during the first quarter of S.Y. 2019-2020 among the respondents were randomly selected. Two sections of Arayat National High School were the respondents of the study. The control group was the 7-Rosal while the 7-Sampaguita was the experimental group. Both groups were given a pretest prior to the discussion about fractions and a posttest after instruction using the traditional method (control group) and the use of manipulatives (experimental group). The results were then evaluated, analysed through SPSS, and interpreted. Mean, t-test and ANCOVA were utilized to analyze and interpret the data. This study found out that the post-test scores of the respondents from the two groups improved in comparison to their pre-test scores. The mean pretest and mean posttest scores of both groups showed significant difference. The results showed that the use of virtual manipulatives in converting fractions to decimals had significant difference compared the use of the traditional method. On the contrary, teaching fractions on a number line did not have significant difference. Out of the four operations on fractions, three showed that the use of concrete manipulatives was highly effective. This study recommends that teachers must test the prior knowledge of their students before discussing about fractions to determine the students’ strengths and weaknesses. Although both traditional method and the manipulative approach showed improvement on the post-test results in teaching fractions, still, teachers are encouraged to use manipulatives in teaching fractions to improve students’ performance. It is important for teachers to provide their students opportunities for hands-on manipulation of objects in order to grasp the concepts of fractions more easily. Lastly, teachers must develop the use of concrete and virtual manipulatives in teaching fractions to promote active learning that can enhance students’ mathematics performance and can help them to realize that mathematics is an enjoyable subject.]]>

<![CDATA[Reading is an important skill that can be used to communicate and understand the academic, business and cultural world. Reading can be a tool for learners’ progress and success in different fields of discipline. This study utilized descriptive-correlational design to examine 41 respondents selected as census or total enumeration using purposive sampling. Findings revealed that majority of the respondents used hard copy reading materials for the past 12 months. There were 22 respondents who used books, 2 who used magazines and 1 respondent used newspaper. Most of the class were in frustration level which is 75. 6%. There was one non-reader. Independent readers were four and instructional were five. There was a significant negative relationship (cc= -0.572 and p-value= 0.001) between choice of reading materials and reading achievement. This suggested that the use of soft copies as reading material is correlated to high reading achievement. The implications may serve as basis for intervention, program, and policy formulation. Teachers need to design interactive reading materials using the 21st Century technologies like soft copies reading materials which can be handy and can be access anytime and anywhere using mobile phones. Reading intervention using technology-based materials may be designed to improve reading achievement of the students. Schools may introduce e-library which may introduce various materials that can be accessed and read in soft copy format. This will also be beneficial to distance learning modality.]]>
